The Ethics of Not Rushing: Moral Decision-Making in the Clinical Context in Light of the Resurrection

June 5, 2024
1 to 1:45 p.m. ET

This talk explores the role of time and memory in ethical decision-making in the clinical context. Drawing on Gospel narratives of Jesus’ Resurrection appearance, the talk considers challenges posed by a desire for speed, efficiency, and fast resolution in ethical decision-making. It suggests that Catholic health care offers an alternative that values attention and reflective practice as supportive of moral discernment.
