Gary S. Campbell will step down as chief executive of Centura Health of Centennial, Colo., Sept. 1 to assume a new executive leadership position at Centura. He will be a special advisor focused on leadership development and health care value. Peter D. Banko will succeed Campbell as chief executive and will continue as Centura Health president. He will give up the title of chief operating officer.
Matt Grimshaw to market chief executive for CHI Trinity Health System of Steubenville, Ohio, effective July 31. He currently is west region president of CHI St. Alexius Health, Williston, N.D.
Jeffrey Johnston to regional president of the eastern Missouri region of Mercy of Chesterfield, Mo., from president of Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Johnston will continue in that role until Mercy appoints a new hospital president.
Vicki Briggs to president and chief executive of St. Vincent's Medical Center of Bridgeport, Conn., effective July 1. She was St. Vincent's chief operating officer. She will succeed Vincent C. Caponi, who plans to retire, effective June 30.
Mike McCurry, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy, is expanding his responsibilities to include the role of president of St. Anthony's Medical Center of St. Louis. He succeeds Kelly Wetzler, who was interim chief executive. Mercy Executive Vice President Donn Sorensen will provide executive oversight for St. Anthony's operations. On May 31, Mercy and St. Anthony's finalized an affiliation they had announced in February.
ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES
Organizations within St. Louis-based Ascension have made these changes: Angie Boyd-Chambers to chief marketing and communications officer for Saint Thomas Health of Nashville, Tenn., and Katrina Brown to chief nursing officer and chief operations officer at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala.
Eric Brettner to chief financial officer for PeaceHealth's Northwest Washington and Southeast Alaska regions. PeaceHealth is based in Vancouver, Wash.
John Kane to senior vice president of quality and patient safety for Catholic Health of Buffalo, N.Y.
Alex Chamtcheu to director of mission and pastoral care for Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn.
Dr. John Kelly to vice president of quality for HSHS Medical Group of Springfield, Ill.
Angela Botticella to CHA chief of staff, in the association's Washington, D.C., office.
