GIFTS/GRANTS
The Saint Clare's Foundation of Denville, N.J., and Morristown, N.J., has gifted the majority of its assets to the Community Foundation of New Jersey to promote health and wellness in New Jersey's Morris and Sussex counties. The transfer of total assets was in excess of $2 million. Catholic Health Initiatives of Englewood, Colo., sold the three-hospital Saint Clare's Health System to Prime Healthcare Services in 2015. The system's foundation selected the 38-year-old Community Foundation of New Jersey to continue Saint Clare's Foundation's legacy.
HSHS St. Elizabeth's Foundation of Belleville, Ill., has received a $1.28 million gift from the W.E. Renth Trust. One million dollars of the gift will go toward the St. Elizabeth's replacement hospital capital campaign. The balance will be placed in an endowment for maintaining the facility. The gift is from a trust established to benefit Renth's sister, Betty Renth. She released the funds. W.E. and Betty Renth — both longtime supporters of the hospital — will receive recognition in the replacement hospital's Heart and Vascular Center. The late William E. Renth was vice president of First Community Bank in New Baden, Ill.
