Presence Health sends a big message exposing hidden costs of large Medicaid cuts

May 15, 2015

Kathleen Rhine, president and chief executive of the South Suburban Region of Presence Health, endorses a letter to Illinois State Rep. Natalie Manley, asking Manley to oppose $1.5 billion in Medicaid budget cuts proposed by Gov. Bruce Rauner. Hundreds of employees of Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Ill., signed poster-sized letters warning legislators the proposed cuts would have a devastating impact on the ability of community hospitals to care for the poor and would increase health care expenses in the long term.
