Amy L. Hertweck-Warner, DO, MA, HEC-C, is a physician and ethicist who has been with Mercy as Director of Ethics since 2017. In addition to currently leading clinical ethics for Mercy St. Louis, she provides system support and ethics expertise in the areas of artificial intelligence, precision medicine, and data governance. She is a member of the Mercy Council on AI and the Mayo Clinic Connect, Ethics and Regulatory council. Dr. Warner is also the Mission and Ethics representative for the Women and Children’s Service Line and serves as a member of its leadership team.
Dr. Warner practiced as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist prior to her career in ethics. She has received a Masters in Bioethics and Health Policy from Loyola Chicago and has completed the coursework for her doctorate. She is an Assistant Professor with Ponce Health Science University – School of Medicine in St. Louis and is a certified healthcare ethics consultant.
