Health Care Reform in a Post-COVID-19 World
Sponsorship Institute will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 19 with a special presentation by Dr. Berwick about lessons learned from COVID-19 and the path forward for health delivery, access and equity in a post-COVID-19 world. There will be ample opportunities to engage in dialogue with Dr. Berwick and fellow participants during Q & A and breakout sessions. The opening session will take place from 11 a.m –1 p.m. ET followed by a lunch break from 1–2 p.m. ET.

Discussion of the Bishop's Pastoral Role in Catholic Health Care
Also on Tuesday, we'll meet with Bishop Kevin W. Vann, JCD, DD, Bishop of Orange, California, starting at 2 p.m. ET about an upcoming revised document from the USCCB Doctrine Committee entitled, The Pastoral Role of the Diocesan Bishop in Catholic Health Care Ministry. Bishop Vann was chair of the drafting committee for the updated version. He will discuss how the document can help foster productive relationships between Catholic health care and bishops to advance the Church's health ministry and service to the common good.

Catholic Health Care and the Global Church
On Thursday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. ET, we'll welcome representatives of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life to discuss the sponsor relationship with the Holy See. This is a truly distinctive opportunity for you to meet members of the Congregation and to hear first-hand what they look for in annual reports to the Holy See and petitions for PJPs.

Revised Sponsor Competency Model
We'll also review the new Sponsor Competency model and engage in breakout sessions to discuss how the new competencies apply to a variety of sponsorship models and to the formation and recruitment of sponsors for Catholic health care.
