Ethical Issues in Long-Term Care – A Quarterly Webinar Series

CHA is pleased to present a quarterly webinar series exploring ethical issues unique to long-term care settings. Presented by ethicists from CHA member health systems, each 60-minute webinar will feature a presentation on a specific issue commonly encountered in long-term care in the context of Catholic social teaching and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs). Participants will be invited to engage in a case study exercise and group discussion following the presentation.

Changing Care Settings: Supporting Couples with Differing Care Needs

Bob Smoot, Chief Mission Integration Officer, Ascension Post Acute and At-Home Services, will discuss how to support couples who want to continue to live together but one partner has increasing care needs and qualifies for a higher level of care. How do we discern what is the best setting for the medical needs and quality of life of both partners?
