February is American Heart Month; Cardiovascular Professionals Week is typically celebrated the second full week in February.
God and Father of us all,
you have made us to love you and one another
with a love like your own, constant and true.
For this purpose you have placed within us
the human heart, something both physical and spiritual.
The beats of our physical heart sustain us daily in this life.
The rhythms of our spiritual heart call us into the depths of our better selves—
there we learn how much you love us
and how much that love longs to be shared with others.
Help us to look after the needs of our physical heart, good Father,
so that our bodies may be of service to you for days and years to come.
Help our spiritual hearts to beat in time
with the rhythms of your own great love for us and for all that you have made.
In your holy and blessed name we pray.
