Montana applauds Sisters of Providence

April 15, 2011

The Sisters of Providence received the Montana Secretary of State's Centennial Award during a ceremony held on St. Patrick's Day at St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center in Missoula, Mont. The hospital is a member of Providence Health & Services of Renton, Wash.

The award, given during the hospital's employee "spirit week," recognizes a mission that extends back to the 1873 opening of St. Patrick Hospital, the second hospital founded by the early Sisters of Providence in the West.

"The Sisters of Providence are a shining example of how unity and kindness can make a positive difference in our communities," said Secretary of State Linda McCulloch.
