Clement Manor, a continuing care retirement community in Greenfield, Wisconsin, is now part of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries.
The change, which was effective April 1, shifts ownership and sponsorship of the community from the Milwaukee-based School Sisters of St. Francis to the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
"This venture will strengthen the call to provide for continued quality care for the residents," Sr. Natalie Binversie, OSF, community director of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, said in a release announcing the transfer. "It is our honor
to continue the ministry begun by the School Sisters of St. Francis."
The two Franciscan orders and the leaders of their nonprofit business entities discussed the transfer for several months and recently reached an agreement on the details, according to the release from Clement Manor and Franciscan Sisters of Christian
Charity. The congregation is based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the Green Bay Diocese have agreed to the transfer, pending reception of documents by the Vatican, the release said.
"We have supported the Clement Manor leadership team in exploring potential partnerships, and we are very enthusiastic about the choice of working with the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity as a thriving faith-based operation that adheres to Catholic
health care guidelines," said Sr. Carol Rigali, OSF, director of sponsorship services for the School Sisters of St. Francis.
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries is composed of acute and long-term health care facilities in Wisconsin, Nebraska and Ohio.
The order sees expansion into the Milwaukee market as an opportunity to extend its mission of serving older adults via faith-based residential communities. It sponsors a hospital in Manitowoc that is affiliated with the Froedtert & Medical College
of Wisconsin health network.

Clement Manor's continuum of care includes independent and assisted living apartments, memory care, transitional rehab care and skilled nursing care and the Center for Enrichment lifelong learning classes.
