St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital to complete expansion

August 15, 2016

St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital of Camarillo, Calif., is undertaking an $80 million expansion project that will allow for the addition of advanced technology, improve patient rooms and bring the facility into compliance with California seismic safety regulations.

The facility, which is part of San Francisco-based Dignity Health, began the project about a year ago and will complete it in March 2018. The three-story expansion will include a cardiac catheterization lab, three surgical operating suites and a 12-bay preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit.

St. John's Pleasant Valley will have 50 private rooms post-construction. Currently, patient rooms are private, but do not comfortably accommodate visitors, particularly overnight guests, according to information from the hospital. The new rooms will have enough space for visitors to gather and to stay overnight on an extendable couch, if they wish.

The facility held a community event in June to celebrate installing the last beam in the expansion's infrastructure.
