Trinity Health is presenting its fourth annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Health Equity Symposium on Jan. 15. The virtual event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET.
The theme of this year's symposium is "Mission Possible: Advancing Health Equity." The event will address such issues as eliminating algorithms that create racial bias, reducing health disparities affecting mothers and babies, and understanding how challenges from past generations impact families today.
The keynote speaker is Lena Hatchett, associate professor at the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics & Healthcare Leadership at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Other featured speakers are Mike Slubowski, Trinity Health president and CEO; LaRonda Haller, senior vice president, diversity, equity and inclusion at Trinity Health; and Kathryn Lawler, CEO of Saint Joseph's Health System and Mercy Care.
