Sr. Mary Haddad, a Sister of Mercy of the South Central Community, will become CHA's vice president of mission services, beginning July 1. Sr. Pat Talone, RSM, who currently holds the role and has been a leader with CHA for 15 years, will be with CHA through mid-August. Sr. Talone is returning to her home community with the Sisters of Mercy in Philadelphia where she plans to teach, write and consult on bioethics.

Sr. Haddad has been CHA's senior director of sponsor services since 2009. In her new role, she will lead CHA's mission services department, coordinating mission integration, theology and ethics, ministry leadership development, sponsorship and learning integration. She will promote an understanding of Catholic health ministry as an essential ministry of the Catholic Church.

In her current role, Sr. Haddad develops and evaluates programs, services and products that support the leaders of religious institutions, laity and bishops who sponsor Catholic health care in the United States. She provides consultation, education and facilitation to foster evolving forms of sponsorship to meet ministry needs.

She holds a master's degree in business administration in health care from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, and a master's degree in social work from Saint Louis University. Her undergraduate degree in education is from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ill.

CHA is recruiting candidates to fill the senior director of sponsor services post.
