PRESIDENTS/CEOS

Dr. Rod Hochman to president and chief executive of Providence Health & Services, Renton, Wash., from group president for Providence. He will succeed Dr. John Koster, who is retiring.

Leonard Wilk to president and chief executive of St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Ill., from president and chief administrative officer of Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wis.

ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES

Aaron Robinson to vice president of operations for SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Mo.

Kyle Grate to executive director of strategy and business development for SSM Orthopedics in St. Louis.

St. Mary – Corwin Medical Center, Pueblo, Colo., has made these changes: Donna Fisher to chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services, and Dr. Charles Raye to chief medical officer.

David Nelson to division chief financial officer for Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis., and St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wis.

Tom Wagner to chief financial officer for Avera St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre, S.D.

Dr. Shahid Chaudhary to chief medical officer for Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D.

Danielle Niebrugge to director of people services at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Ill.

GRANTS

Queen of the Valley Medical Center foundation in Napa, Calif., received a $500,000 gift from The V Foundation for Cancer Research to support its clinical laboratory and pathology service.

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell, S.D., has given Dakota Wesleyan University $300,000 for the university's Corrigan Health Sciences Center.

The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation received a $300,000 gift from the R.J. Corman Railroad Group to bring digital mammography services to Saint Joseph's Jessamine, Nicholasville, Ky.

SSM Health Care – St. Louis Foundations received a $289,000 grant from the St. Louis County Children's Service Fund to assist with costs of outpatient psychiatric programs for uninsured children.

Mercy's Safe and Sober program in Springfield, Mo., will use a $130,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation to encourage teen sobriety.

HONORS

St. Joseph's/Candler Health System in Savannah, Ga., received the top honor of the $100,000, 2012 Foster G. McGaw Prize for excellence in community service; and Seton Healthcare Family in Austin, Texas, was named as a finalist.

SSM Health Care – St. Louis' Terry Weis received the Donald Siehl award, a rarely bestowed honor from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, for major contributions, commitment and advancement of medical care during his career.

ANNIVERSARIES

St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif., 90 years.

Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md., 50 years.
