Nine ministry hospitals are among the health care facilities designated or redesignated as Magnet facilities last year.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center recognizes health care providers with the designation when they meet criteria that show that they are providing quality care, delivering nursing services with excellence and using and sharing best practices in nursing services.
Ministry facilities recognized in 2012 were:
- CHRISTUS Hospital – St. Elizabeth and St. Mary, Beaumont, Texas
- CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas
- Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, Austin, Texas
- Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati
- Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, Calif.
- Seton Medical Center, Austin
- St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, Indianapolis
- St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, Conn.
- University Medical Center Brackenridge, Austin
Magnet designees must reapply for Magnet status every four years.
