CHRISTUS Health restructures units, makes leadership changes

CHRISTUS Health of Irving, Texas, has reduced the count of its domestic operating units from eight to three and has named the executives heading each unit.

System leadership said in a press release that the changes will streamline and simplify CHRISTUS' structure and will allow CHRISTUS more agility and speed in decision making.

One of the three operational groups will include CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System of San Antonio and CHRISTUS Spohn Health System of Corpus Christi, Texas. Patrick Carrier, who was chief executive of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, now will lead this operational unit as CHRISTUS senior vice president, group operations. Ken Haynes, who was CHRISTUS Santa Rosa chief operating officer, will succeed Carrier as CHRISTUS Santa Rosa president and chief executive. Pamela Robertson will continue as chief executive for the CHRISTUS Spohn region.

The second operational group covers CHRISTUS Health's operations in central Louisiana, northern Louisiana, southwestern Louisiana and southeast Texas. Stephen Wright, who was chief executive of the CHRISTUS Health Louisiana regions, will serve as senior vice president, group operations, heading this group. Paul Trevino will continue as chief executive of CHRISTUS Health Southeast Texas. Nancy Hellyer, who was executive vice president and chief operating officer of CHRISTUS Health Louisiana will become chief executive of CHRISTUS Health Central Louisiana. Isaac Palmer, who was executive in residence and interim chief operating officer of CHRISTUS Health Northern Louisiana, will become chief executive of that region. Donald Lloyd, who was administrator and chief operating officer for CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, La., and CHRISTUS Health Southwestern Louisiana, will become chief executive of CHRISTUS Health Southwestern Louisiana.

The third operational group includes operations within the regions formerly known as CHRISTUS Ark-La-Tex and CHRISTUS New Mexico. Jeff Puckett, who was CHRISTUS Health executive vice president, chief international and domestic strategy and growth officer, will serve as executive vice president of strategic alliances and group operations and will head this group. Chris Karam will continue as chief executive of CHRISTUS Health Ark-La-Tex. Bruce Tassin will continue as chief executive of CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, N.M.

The operational unit leaders will join the CHRISTUS Health President's Council, a group that oversees major system endeavors.
