Kansas-based system moves headquarters to Colorado

May 1, 2012

The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System is relocating its headquarters from Lenexa, Kan., to Denver.

The move is intended to enable the system to unify its system-level support services, including billing, finance and human resources, and relieve some administrative burden from the system's facilities, according to Christine Woolsey, who is a senior vice president with the system and its chief communications officer. "We have made this change to strengthen our health ministry and achieve economies of scale," she said.

Administrators expect at least one-third of the headquarters' staff of about 100 to make the move. The system is helping others to pursue positions at other Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth facilities. The system's 11 hospitals and other health care facilities are located in California, Colorado, Kansas and Montana. (More than 50 percent of the system's revenue is generated in Colorado.)

The system expects to create 750 new jobs in Colorado over the next four years.

The system's new address is 2420 West 26th Avenue, Suite 100-D; Denver, CO; 80211.
