Church Leaders Meet with Ministry Executives in Rome

May 15, 2012

CHA's annual Ecclesiology and Spiritual Renewal Program for Health Care Leaders in Rome calls participants to explore the spirituality of leadership and gain perspective on U.S. health care as a ministry of the universal Roman Catholic Church. During a morning at the Vatican the 42 health ministry executives attending the five-day retreat last month heard presentations by, from top left, Archbishop Joseph Augustine DiNoia, OP, secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments; Cardinal João Braz de Aviz, prefect for the Vatican Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life; Fr. Hank Lemoncelli, OMI, and Sr. Mary Wright, IBVM, both officials in the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life; and left, CHA President and Chief Executive Officer Sr. Carol Keehan, DC, and Msgr. Jean-Marie Mupendawatu, secretary of the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care.
