A Sept. 1 Catholic Health World story incorrectly described part of the impact of a new governance agreement involving Denver's Exempla Healthcare, the Community First Foundation and the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. The SCL Health System will gain greater operational control of Exempla under the agreement, including the right to appoint nine of Exempla's 10-member board.
A story in the Sept. 1 issue of Catholic Health World about plans by Catholic Health Initiatives and PeaceHealth to form a regional health system in the Northwest by combining their operating properties in a new company incorrectly reported the ongoing role of sponsors after the merger. CHI's and PeaceHealth's respective juridic persons will continue to independently sponsor the Catholic hospitals and facilities to which they have historic ties.
