Innovative outreach

CHA members reach the public for preventive care, including health screenings and healthy lifestyle education, in a variety of creative settings. Here's a look at some of the interesting spots where they're providing this care.

Cardiologist Dr. Jesse Adams, right, fields medical questions at the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville in mid-August. KentuckyOne Health, the state’s largest health system, set up shop at the fair to offer education and health screenings.

St. Joseph Healthcare and St. Joseph School of Nursing employees, working with the NH Minorities Coalition, held a free clinic at New Fellowship Baptist Church for clients of the nearby C.O.R.E. food pantry in Nashua, N.H. About 100 community members stopped by the "Caring Beyond Our Borders" event in June. They offered screenings including BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose blood draws and education about diabetes, cholesterol and healthy eating.
