Call to Prayer
Leader
Come to our aid, God of Wisdom.
All
We have need of your vision and wholeness.
Leader
Listen to us now as we pray.
All
Open our eyes that we may see clearly your works, our hearts that we may understand your vision for us, and our ears that we may hear your call to ministry.
Reading I
The Lord answered me and said: Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets, so that one can read it readily. For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint. If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late. (Hb 2:2-3)
Response
May we live the vision and remember just to be is a blessing, just to live is holy.
Reading II
You have been told what is good and what the Lord requires of you. Act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God. (Mi 6:8)
Response
May we live the vision and remember just to be is a blessing, just to live is holy.
Reading III
The spirit of the Lord is upon me; therefore he has anointed me. He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives, recovery of sight to the blind and release to prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the Lord. (Lk 4:18-19)
Response
May we live the vision and remember just to be is a blessing, just to live is holy.
(Note: You may wish to read your Vision or Mission Statement as a reflection at this time.)
Let us pray
O God of Wisdom, we are thankful for your call to serve in the Catholic health ministry. Help us in these autumn to winter days, to articulate once again your vision so that it pervades the hearts and lives of each of us and our employees. Give us strength to carry out the vision for the mission of the Church and the service of the poor. We come to you with ready hearts. Amen.
