This Listen to Creation prayer card set is valuable for occasions focused on the environment, such as engagement with the Laudato Si Action Platform and celebrations of Season of Creation, Earth Day and the Feast of St. Francis. Each card features a beautiful image of the elements of matter, earth, fire, water and air and a prayer written by Sr. Beatrice Hernandez, OSF.

Feb. 11 is World Day of the Sick, an observation introduced by Pope John Paul II as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses. The day coincides with the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes. It is an important opportunity for those who serve in Catholic health ministry to reflect on caring for those who are sick and those who provide care to them. CHA is pleased to offer a series of prayer cards to commemorate World Day of the Sick.

As a part of the Catholic health ministry’s We Are Called campaign, CHA offers several prayer cards. This particular card is available for order hardcopy and then also available as a .jpeg ready for use in a PowerPoint or virtual meeting, an electronic newsletter or other venue for sharing a reflection on our call to equity. Please note: - Each version of each card comes in a pack of 50. The prayer is the same on each – it is only the imagery and colors that are different. The book allows readers to reflect on their own personal experiences through the perspectives of a housekeeper, a sponsor, a physician, a family member, a patient and others through vivid personal narratives set in clinics, hospitals and continuum of care facilities. Each chapter begins with “The Word,” a Gospel proclamation or story of how Jesus spoke and acted, and continues with the voice of someone in the health care ministry who lives the Scripture day to day. Each chapter concludes with a blessing for all who share that voice’s role, followed by questions for personal or group reflection. Those blessings are now available as prayer cards. World Hospice and Palliative Care Day takes place on the second Saturday of October every year. In addition, in the U.S., November is National Hospice & Palliative Care Month.
