Advocacy Hospital Billing and Collection Practices

Interest in the billing and collection practices of hospitals, especially as those practices relate to the uninsured, continues. This heightened interest involves the entire Catholic health ministry, not only the four Catholic systems included as part of the 10 health systems contacted by the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce in April 2005 as part of an ongoing congressional billing and collection inquiry. This website offers resources from CHA and the American Hospital Association, as well as past media coverage of hospital billing and collection practices. Also included are links to groups that have raised the issue. If you have questions or comments, please contact Clay O'Dell, director, member advocacy.
