Catholic health care in the United States began as a global health mission by the church, its clergy and congregations of women and men religious who came here from mostly Europe to serve immigrant and native peoples. The heritage of their work, the global membership of many of the founding congregations and our mission to serve those on the margins continues to compel U. S. Catholic health care to conduct global health activities. The pandemic is underscoring just how interconnected we all are; further calling us to review activities through lenses of solidarity, true partnership and transparency as we reconnect and/or reach out to our global health partners. Join CHA for a dialogue around current activities and frameworks for engagement, and the sponsor’s role(s) in the strategy of global health activities. Presenters will unpack current realities of global health in relation to the changing landscape of Catholic health care and then open discussions around:

• The tradition of Global Health and Catholic health care in the USA
• Current activities – examples from sponsors and systems deeply involved in Global Health
• Roles – how strategies are developed, executed and evaluated in relation to involvement by the historical and/or current sponsor bodies
